My motto in life is “Love what you do and smile”.
As the founder and CEO of JBS Financial and with close to 30 years’ experience in financial planning, I see myself as a passionate, resilient leader. Leadership is knowing what your team is going through and ensuring they have a voice; knowing that there is guidance available to them if they need it.
Our business is all about building relationships, this has helped grow JBS Financial into the thriving and progressive financial advice practice that it is today. Our team are happiest when we know that our clients are achieving their goals. Whether it’s a small win for them or helping them to make a major decision around retirement, the key is our clients know they are a number one priority.
I’m passionate about helping people, sharing ideas and being there as a role model. Aside from my day to day role, I enjoy helping women in business, ensuring that they understand their financial situation and gain control of their financial future. It’s important to me that they can achieve great things if they want to.
Stepping back in time and speaking with ‘young Jenny’, I would say seek good advice from a young age. As my father said, “Money doesn’t grow on apple trees”. It was a lesson learnt that if you apply yourself, you can achieve anything.
I still have a great deal I want to achieve for myself and my team however some of my biggest highlights have been receiving the 2013 AFA Adviser of the Year Award, Beddoes Most Trusted Adviser consistently since 2013 and receiving the FS Smileys Scholar of the Year 2013.
When it’s time to down tools, I love spending time with my husband, Brendan, on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula or enjoying the warmer weather on the Sunshine Coast with our Murray River Retrievers.
